AN appeal for a new minibus for Hospice Care for Burnley and Pendle received a much-needed boost when £2,000 was donated by a local group.
Burnley's Crowther Street Mob - a group of women who have spent Wednesday nights during the last few years making craft items - raised the money by selling their work.
Led by Joan Ashworth, the group has made and sold thousands of pounds-worth of goods and were one of the hospice's original fundraising groups. The cheque was presented at a social event at the Harpers Inn, Fence.
