THOUSANDS of promotion-hungry fans have besieged Turf Moor in the run-up to tomorrow's vital final home game.
And manager Stan Ternent has urged them: "Get behind us -- we can do it".
Supporters have queued around Turf Moor for much of the week in a scramble for tickets for the clash with Cambridge -- a game expected to attract more than 15,000.
And scores more fans are already looking to a promotion success, boosting sales of discount season tickets for what will hopefully be a return to Division One.
Turf Moor reported that all of Burnley's 2,000 tickets for the last match of the season at Scunthorpe next week were snapped up within two hours of going on sale on Tuesday.
Ternent said: "We just need to keep winning. You can never tell what's going to happen but we will be doing our best to win the game, with a little bit of the rub of the green and the fans behind us."
Tickets for tomorrow's match will remain on sale until the kick-off, but the club is urging fans to buy in advance to avoid a crush and possible disappointment.
Season ticket sales have gone well, says the club, which is anticipating a last minute rush, with tomorrow the last chance to claim discount before higher prices are introduced next week.
