A PRESTON car dealership has aced its way into the record books with Preston Tennis Tournament.
Bowker, the town's BMW dealership, has given a record amount of sponsorship to the tournament, which attracts players from all over the county.
The dealership is lending its marketing expertise, as well as more than £1,000 of prize money, to the competition.
Leyland Tennis Club, in Fox Lane, will host the finals of the tournament on Saturday, June 17, and the ten classes start on Monday, June 5, at tennis clubs around Preston..
Men's and Ladies' open singles and doubles, handicapped singles and doubles and mixed open and handicapped doubles make up the competition.
The event is open to all standards and the open classes will be seeded and progressive, with higher-rated players joining at a later round.
Bowker has already sponsored Preston golf pro Andrew Greenbank in his bid for the year's British Open and the scoreboard at Preston Grasshoppers.
Tournament chairman Tim Threadgold said: "We hope the increased level of support we have received this year will enable us to raise the tournament to even greater heights."
Anyone interested in competing should call Jim Sheldon on (01772) 769325 before May 15.
