AS A GIRO customer since its formation, having also had my pension paid in each month since then, I also use the cash point as my main source of supply of cash.
Not having credit cards or wanting to get money by cheque (my choice), I find it rather frustrating and also very annoying to find that the main place to obtain cash is from the main Post Office in Lancaster.
Only to find, and it seems only since the introduction by other banks for making a charge for using a cash machine at nearly all of their branches, that the one place where you can obtain cash without penalty is the main Post Office.
For some weeks now on each Monday and Tuesday the cash machine gives a balance account only on screen, no cash, no printed statement available. Is this a ploy to make you use a Link machine at a cost to benefit any bank etc in the Link set up.
Perhaps a Link representative or local head Postmaster could shed a little light on this situation, I await with interest.
