A FLEETWOOD rugby player is ready to give the big league a try after being selected to play for England team.
Lesley Gray, 28, is ready to tackle the new role after being spotted playing for Fleetwood Ladies and then given an international call up.
She said: "I'm really excited -- I haven't played in the full England team before. But I have played for Emerging England and the England A team and scored a try.
"I'm a late-comer to the game, but I'm making up for it," she added.
Lesley only got involved in the sport four years ago, when she co-founded Fleetwood Ladies. They haven't been beaten in two seasons and in addition to her experience she has also represented the North West and North of England in the past.
"The reaction from the rest of the girls has been great," Lesley enthused.
"We're a close-knit team, and they're really supportive."
She will go on to train with the rest of England team mates in June and may tour Canada in October.
