ANDY Preece destroyed his former club with a stunning display which saw Blackpool plummet further into trouble losing 3 - 2 at Bury.
The Shakers' player-manager headed past an unprotected Phil Barnes from a free kick on 37 minutes and converted a penalty three minutes into the second half.
But Blackpool showed their grit by fighting back from the two-goal deficit.
Ian Hughes tried to pull one back with a 20-yard volley but his shot was straight at Kenny.
Midfield dynamo Wayne Gill started the fightback with a headed goal from a Kevin Richardson corner on 69 minutes and Newell levelled two minutes later.
But it was another former Pool player who sank Blackpool in the final minute.
Marvin Bryan, dumped by Pool following his refusal to sign terms and a subsequent injury, stormed down the left and passed to Adrian Littlejohn who shot from 20-yards to settle the tie.
After the match, manager Steve McMahon said: "We showed a lot of commitment.
"The fat lady is gargling at the minute -- but she's not performed yet!"
