BLACKPOOL professional Marcus Sharp made his debut in The Bay Northern Premier League a successful one.

He bowled 20 immaculate overs to take six wickets for a miserly 11 runs to help dismiss Preston for 67.

The visitors left Stanley Park defeated by 119 runs following Blackpool's impressive declared total of 186-6.

After newcomer Richard Lamb had been unnecessarily run out for five, Robin Bracewell and another debutante Mark Lomas built the foundation for Blackpool's total with a partnership of 65 in even time. Bracewell was out for 37, but Lomas remained undefeated on 88, which included one six and five fours, when the innings closed.

Skipper Rudra Singh contributed 13, Steven Croft six, Danson 1, Sharp a promising 13 and Simcock 13 not out as Preston's Roger Kaye nipped in with three late wickets for 22 runs.

Preston lost wickets steadily from the start as Sharp removed the first three batsmen with only 16 runs on the board.

Darren Walton, also on his debut, snapped up Bukhari for six before Sharp removed Preston's top scorer Munaf Bavla who made 27 before a faint edge saw Martin Hackett snap up the catch.

Thereafter it was just a matter of time. Sharp removed two more batsmen and leg spinner Steve Mercer ended an impressive short spell be taking 3-11 from eight overs.

It was a promising start for Blackpool, but it is unlikely they will encounter another team who will bat as ineptly as Preston did.

But take nothing away from Sharp -- he was simply magnificent.
