Spennymoor United 0, Lancaster City 0
ALTHOUGH Lancaster City played a superb game at Brewery Field, one man proved to be their Nemesis, 'keeper Phil Naisbett.
The former Barrow goalie played a truely impressive game. Naisbett seemed to be under attack for most of the game with David Eatock making the first assault after seven minutes. Naisbett was able to block this and though Shane Jessop took the resulting corner and had a very near miss, Naisbett was ready and waiting to deflect another Eatock attack.
Lancaster kept up the pressure with brave attempts by Kenny Mayers and Jessop and then Jimmy Graham took a free kick after Paul Haddow was brought down just outside the penalty box.
The scoreline deadlock was not lifted in the second half, although Spennymoor's Craig Veart made Mark Thornley do some work early on.
Lancaster had more chances including another free kick, but each time Naisbett was on hand to protect his goal and when the final whistle blew it was still stalemate.
Team: Thornley, Sparrow, Graham, Udall, Kilbane, Mayers, Martin, Haddow, Eatock (Horner 85), Cheal (Barnes 78), Jessop (Dickinson 72)
