LABOUR proposals for a new style cabinet system at Lancashire County Council came under a heavy barrage of criticism from Conservative members.
Speaking both in debate and afterwards, the Conservative Leader, County Cllr Robert Hodge, dismissed Labour claims of widespread consultation as a 'total nonsense and misleading sham'.
He said: "The Bill which will allow this is still in its early stages and already there's amendments being made which the Labour Group in Lancashire can't accept and are choosing to press ahead regardless of many of their own MPs, councillors and supporters' views."
