FANS and players alike were celebrating this week as Morecambe FC managed to equal a footballing record.
The Shrimps battled hard in an away fixture with Kingstonian and held on for a goalless draw which saw the club unbeaten for 14 games for the season. The record in the Conference is 14 which was set by non-league rivals, Altrincham.
The Shrimps didn't start too well but things looked better in the second half and indeed they had a couple of chances to steal all three points -- a Stewart Drummond free-kick came close as the game moved into its final stages.
The game was a little lacklustre but hardly surprising as the Shrimps were facing their third fixture in five days.
The goalless draw moves the Shrimps up to third and on Saturday they could break the unbeaten record when they face mid-table Kettering at Christie Park.
