SEAN GREGAN'S season is over, he has revealed.
Inspirational skipper Gregan hasn't played since injuring his back during the pivotal game against Wigan earlier this month, but had hope to be back in the thick of things before the end of term.
He said: "It is a shame I won't be able to play a part in the last couple of games," he said. "But I hope they will let me come onto the pitch and hold up the trophy."
With promotion secured, it is quite unlikely that Moyes would have risked Gregan, even if he reckoned he had recovered.
But while promotion is secured for North End, this weekend's home game against Millwall will help decide who goes up with them. If Millwall win they could end up on level points with Wigan and Burnley, setting up a nail-biting finale.
Top scorer Neil Harris declared: "We fancy ourselves against Preston. We are quietly confident of taking the points there like we did last season.
"They are up now and that may have an effect. We knew the last few games were going to be tough and it is very tight at the top. But we are really up for it and will be giving it everything."
Millwall welcome back Robbie Ryan after a broken toe, while they lose Steve Fitzgerald -- to a toe injury!
Jon Macken could be fit, as could Iain Anderson, and boss Moyes warned: "I want the team to keep on winning. It is the best way to go into Division One, which will be tough."
Preston's last game of the season is away to Bristol City on the following Saturday.
