ANDY Cooke was taking nothing for granted going into today's clash with Cambridge United.

The U's and Scunthorpe, Burnley opponents next week, are both near the foot of the table.

But Cook insisted: "You can't take any game lightly. Scunthorpe might be fighting for survival so it will be difficuly going there and with Cambridge as well, there are no easy game anywhere.

"You've just got to try and go out and win every game you play."

Victory for Burnley today could clinch a play-off place and mean that their promotion hopes would definitely go right to the death.

"It would be a massive boost and it would mean everything would go down to the last game, which would be fantastic," added Cooke, who was delighted to mark his return from injury with a goal against Millwall a week ago.

"I hate not being involved. There's nothing worse than sitting on the side watching your mates, especially when you've been involved all season. It's so hard. It's great to be back," he added.

THE 10-yard rule aimed at curbing dissent by giving referees the power to move free-kicks forward, is set to be introduced in Nationwide League matches next season.

The FA has agreed to implement the rule, which was used in this season's Auto Windscreens Shield competition, and it will apply to all Premiership games as well as FA Cup ties from the first round proper onwards.

It's expected that the Football League will shortly agree to follow suit so from next season any player showing dissent, failing to retreat the required distance or kicking the ball away when a direct or indirect free-kick is awarded has to be booked and the free-kick is then moved forward by 10 yards.

FORMER Clarets striker Kevin Henderson has scored a couple of crucial goals for Hartlepool lately, including the winner over Mansfield a week ago to lift Pool into the play-off places.

THE Clarets will be hoping that history doesn't repeat itself over the last week of the season.

The last time Burnley played back-to-back games against Cambridge at home and Scunthorpe away was in November 1988.

Then as a Fourth Division side, Burnley beat the Us 2-0 but lost 2-1 at Scunthorpe.

However, even three points might be enough to take the Clarets up, depending on results elsewhere.

ACCRINGTON Clarets are holding their AGM on Monday night at the Accrington Stanley social club, start 8pm. Board member and former Burnley chairman Frank Teasdale will be the guest.
