DECAYING hospital buildings were being left to rot and essential repair jobs were being ignored as cash cuts forced health chiefs to use the money to pay nurses wages and save lives.
County Coun Jack Bury predicted major problems with maintenance at hospitals throughout East Lancashire if they did not get any extra money to carry out the work.
