A DOZEN dogs were treated to a sponsored two-and-a-half-mile walk in Rossendale (see picture).
The event, along a bridleway from Marl Pits, Rawtenstall, raised £148 for Pets As Therapy, an organisation which helps fund hospital treatment for animals.
The walk marked the start of National Pets Week, which will end at Haslingden sports centre on Sunday with a dog and pets show and fun day.
The event starts at 11am and will go on throughout the afternoon.
It will include the chance for your pet to take the good citizen test and possibly gain a certificate and rosette.
Other attractions include the fire service rescue dogs, donkey rides and charity stalls.
Rossendale dog warden Dave East said: "National figures show Lancashire to be one of the worst areas for dog cruelty.
"We want to show that in this part of the world we care for our animals."
