TRANSPORT in Lancashire has been given a Government cash boost.
Lancashire County Council has been given almost £500,000 by the Government to improve public transport, child safety and progress schemes central to its local transport plan.
Lancashire's Highways and Transportation Deputy Chairman, county councillor Brian Johnson, said: "The latest cash injection is just what we need to boost a number of our key initiatives. We are just as keen as the Government to see a drastic reduction in the number of children killed or injured on the roads and I hope that this new money will help bring the results we all want to see."
Councillors will decide exactly how to spend the money later this year.
