THE Sports Editor has got it wrong again.
Because of his (probable) congenital hatred of Manchester United, he still seems to think that minnows like Blackburn can be a force in the land. They cannot.
Of course United's reign will come to an end one day. It will not be replaced by that of a small town club.
He cites Huddersfield of the 20s -- replaced by Arsenal. Arsenal of the 30s -- replaced by the war and Liverpool of the 70s and 80s -- replaced by Manchester United.
Look at Scotland. Rangers and Celtic have dominated the league for the last 70 years -- with a minor blip from time to time.
Flowers is right -- indeed he might have be reading my recent letters to your newspaper.
I'm not saying it's a good thing, but it is a fact.
Just watch the calibre of players Souness will be able to attract next season. I would be very surprised to find a really star name amongst them.
As I've said many times before -- time to live in the real world.
