A MAY queen was crowned at an East Lancashire village before traditional May Day celebrations.
Six-year-old Dominique Smith, of Belthorn, was crowned with a floral wreath before a parade through Belthorn, near Blackburn, and dancing round the maypole with 18 other village youngsters aged three to 11.
Organiser Ann Potts said it was the first May Day event for three years, and spectators had given £40 which will be used to buy prizes for the children's Millennium barn dance to be held next month.
