SOLDIERS swapped their bayonets for a beer barrel to help the disabled.
Three volunteers from the Army teamed up with Blackburn sales manager Dave Murray to take part in a challenge to launch Independence Week which starts on Saturday.
The week is an initiative by Vauxhall and charity Motability to raise awareness of its work in which helping disabled people become mobile by using an allowance towards a specially adapted car or wheelchair.
The challenge of carrying a barrel of beer round Thwaites Brewery was one of a series being carried out around the country.
Lookers Blackburn is one of 400 Vauxhall dealers around the country taking part in the week.
