MEMBERS of one of East Lancashire's oldest rambling clubs are sharing their experiences to celebrate the millennium.
Spring Vale Rambling Class, which was set up in Darwen 105 years ago, has put together a booklet called Rambler's Gems.
The publication is packed with articles on local walks, rambles abroad, tips and advice, along with the thoughts and feelings of members.
It was partially funded by Blackburn with Darwen Council's Community Treasure Chest Fund which is part of the borough's year long Festival 2000 celebrations.
A launch, featuring a short walk, is taking place at Sunnyhurst Wood Visitor Centre, Darwen, on Sunday, May 14 at 1pm.
The event coincides with Green Week activities.
Michael Counter, president of Spring Vale Rambling Class, said: "The publication of this small booklet is one way in which this milestone year can be remembered.
"When all the fireworks have gone and the Millennium Dome has been pulled down the Rambler's Gems booklet will be there on your bookshelf as a reminder of the millennium year and the joy that walking can bring to everyone."
