THE search is on to find Lancashire's Woman of the Year.
Barnardo's is looking for a special woman -- who could be a dedicated neighbour, wonderful mum, devoted carer, or someone who has shown great bravery or triumphed over adversity, or a super sportswoman.
The awards are now in their 12th year and the organisers are hoping to receive a record number of nominations from all corners of the county.
All proceeds from the event, raised by an annual raffle and donations, will go to support Barnardo's work in Lancashire.
The charity helps families with disabled children, homeless young people and disadvantaged families and children.
Anyone who knows a woman with outstanding qualities who deserves recognition should send their nominations to Jenny Prestwich, 140 St Andrew's Road North, St Annes FY8 2JQ.
The closing date for nominations is July 10 and as much information as possible about the nominee should be included.
Contact addresses and telephone numbers for the nominee and the person nominating them should be given.
