HAVE the council Highways department taken out shares in Tarmac as it seems that every road in the town has been invaded by badly designed speed restrictors?
Rather than actually slowing traffic down as I am sure is the well meant intention, they seem to have created an obstacle course all through the town.
On Gaskell Street the other evening I witnessed a motorist actually driving at speed between the speed restrictors on the wrong side of the road, creating an even more potentially dangerous hazard in respect of oncoming traffic.
My nine year old daughter, Emma remarked as we travelled along Eaves Lane: "Dad, if they carry on with these speed humps, they will put them all down the Linkway next!"
