COTTAM Sports Arena played host to a 10K race at the weekend -- and it was a runaway success.
More than 130 runners gathered for the event, which was won by ex-Blackpool star, Wreckin Road Runners' Paul Muller, in a time of 32 mins 32secs.
Neil Cottam, assistant at the centre, said: "It was fantastic.
"The weather was great and we had a giood turnout for the race.
"Around the course, we had children's entertainers, face-painting and stalls selling sports equipment."
Runners helped raise cash for the Rosemere Cancer Foundation in Moor Park on Bank Holiday Monday. And, after the race, weary runners were asked to donate £5 towards the charity, in exchange for a leg massage.
The Seventh Day Adventist Church Building Fund is hoping to benefit from a fun run in Moor Park on Sunday. The entry fee is £5 and can be paid on the day at the start, the Bowling Green End at noon.
