LANCASHIRE Crimestoppers are £500 richer, thanks to a donation from the Constabulary's Police Federation Constable's branch board.
The money will be used to promote the Crimestoppers scheme throughout the county, and also go towards reward payments.
The crime-fighting charity, which allows people to ring with information on crime or anyone involved in, or suspected of, criminal activity, uses the free phone number 0800 555 111.
Calls are anonymous and callers may qualify for a cash reward.
PC Mick Coupe, the CBB secretary, said: "Crimestoppers is a valuable asset in the fight against crime and, as such, helps our members carry out their roles.
"We are happy to support the charity and I would urge other organisations and businesses to contribute towards this vital work."
John Davies, of Crimestoppers, said: "This sort of support is vital and allows us to promote Crimestoppers throughout Lancashire."
Donations can be sent to Lancashire Crimestoppers at PO Box 77, Hutton, Preston PR4 5SB. Cheques should be made payable to Lancashire Crimestop-
pers.
