THE people behind a new North End fanzine have blasted the club -- for treating them like criminals.
The cheeky chaps behind Life in a Northern Town have revealed that stewards at North End's celebrations at the Millwall match chased them away from the ground in a Benny Hill-style chase around the club's car parks.
The wacky new fanzine has only had one edition published.
The editor, who writes under the pseudonym Ernie Clarkson, said: "The reaction has been great.
"But, at the Scunthorpe match, we heard that the club were trying to find out who we are.
"At the Millwall match one of our sellers was on his way in holding a pile of copies and a steward challenged him.
"The steward insisted he had and that he was breaking the rules.
"The seller started walking away from the ground and the steward followed him. It turned into a Benny Hill-style chase around the car park.
"One of our other sellers was told that he would be arrested if he didn't get out of the ground."
A spokesman for North End said: "While the club doesn't have control over our fanzine, it does fund it. It isn't reasonable to sell another in the ground -- it'd be like taking frozen food into Asda and selling it inside their shop."
