THANKS to all the generous listeners to 97.4 Rock FM and our sister station, Magic 999AM.
Why? Because as you may have remembered, last Wednesday, we broadcast simultaneously for the day to raise funds for our charity, Help a Local Child with our Big Auction.
As I reported in the Citizen last week, the aim was to raise £10,000 and this week the money is still coming in. So far we have exceeded our target and raised more than £33,000!
On Sunday, around 1,000 teenagers from the NorthWest flocked to Southport where we were holding an under 18s party night we called Sweet. The night saw appearances from Sweet Female Attitude who are currently at number 9 in the UK Pepsi Chart with their cool song, Flowers and the night ended with chart toppers, Shaft, who played Mucho Mambo and their new single, Mambo Italiano. They brought the house down with a great atmosphere. Two nights before that, for the over 19s, we were in the Utopia night club, Blackburn, celebrating the launch of our latest album, Rock the DanceFloor - all mixed up.
We had appearances there from DJ Flavours and N-Trance who were on Channel 4's Bigger Breakfast that very morning!
Who ever said showbiz is tough work, needs their head examining, but then it probably came from some mega celebrity who couldn't get their own head through a doctor's surgery door.
Anyway, I have to get off the computer now. I'm going to find out who General Failure is and why he's reading my hard drive!
