PRESTON Cycling Club has organised a major mountain biking event to be held in Lancaster.
The Royal and Sun Alliance Grand Prix will take place at Forrest Hills, Ellel, on May 28, and is the club's first major event.
Plans are well under way and there will be at least six age and ability classes to take part in four different races.
And there will be plenty of fun for all the family at Forrest Hills, which was a working farm just three years ago.
Attractions including archery, paintballing and quad-bike racing will be on offer around the Forest of Bowland course.
Spectators can also try their hands at trout fishing, clay-pigeon shooting and hovercraft driving. Club representative George Nowland said: "I am over the moon with the venue with natural terrain lending itself to some spectacular and exciting racing at all levels.
And on top of that, the back-up facilities are first class."
Adam & Gaskell Insurance Consultants are helping out and are renown for more than 20 years of sport sponsorship and the Priory Restaurant in Scorton, a mecca for cyclists.
The course travels along the River Conder, passing by a fishing pond, over all kinds of terrain.
The races will consist of different number of laps for the kids, junior, novice, veteran, sport and elite classes.
Starting at 11am with the kids, races will start at regular intervals with the elite setting off at 2.30pm.
Spectators will find adequate parking facilities at the farm, costing £1 per car and programmes for entry cost £1; OAPs and children get in free.
