PERSONALLY, I like the idea of planting trees upside down. It sums up our society rather well.
Why expect art to be sensible when everything else is run by idiots?
But I've got a better idea.
Why don't we take all our politicians and plant them upside down too? They're not much use to anybody but they might make good ornaments if you space them just right.
And don't worry, even with their heads underground they'll still be able to talk, since they use the other end for that in any case.
Meanwhile I'm glad to see that the honourable press continues to represent as unwashed, brainless hooligans the only people who are seriously trying to address the economical and ecological nightmare that is capitalism.
But perhaps I shouldn't be so cynical. After all, 10 Nobel scientists have cited 2012 as the point of no return for environmental destruction, so we've a few years left to ignore the problem, before gasping with our last breath that nobody warned us, demanding that the council do something and writing enraged letters to the local press.
