A DISABLED learner driver is swapping his wheelchair for something a little nippier after getting a perfect score in his driving theory test.
Bispham-based Andrew Brammer, 34, can now move on to learning to drive a specially adapted car and join the ranks of Britain's disabled drivers.
Born with spina bifida and hydrocephalus, wheelchair user Andrew is now learning the practical skills of driving in a high-tech modified dual-control Vauxhall Corsa.
A special right-handed lever operates the accelerator and brake and a steering ball with infra-red switches operates the indicators, horn and windscreen wipers.
"I'm really pleased with my theory test result and can now focus on improving my skills at the wheel," said Andrew.
"Among my group of friends with disabilities, I'm one of the last to learn to drive, but everyone concerned is being very supportive, which helps and my instructor is always full of encouragement."
