MERSEYSIDE Police are seeking witnesses to a Traffic accident which resulted in the death of a 27-year-old man.
The accident happened at 6.25pm on Sunday in Gores Lane, Crank, near Alder Lane, when a blue Vauxhall Belmont SRi travelling along Gores Lane collided with a wall outside Guild Hall Farm.
The occupants of the vehicle were released by firefighters and then treated by ambulance and medical staff. Passenger Barry Simpkin of Upholland sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The 24-year-old driver sustained injuries that were not thought to be life threatening and was taken to Whiston Hospital where his condition is described as comfortable.
Sergeant Gary Mason, said: "We are attempting to reconstruct the events leading up to the crash and are anxious to trace the occupants of a Honda CRV car, possibly gold or metallic in colour, which was travelling in the opposite direction towards Billinge.
"These people may be unaware of the collision, but will almost certainly have seen the Vauxhall Belmont car immediately before." Anyone with information is urged to contact Maghull Traffic Office on 0151 777 5730, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
A TEENAGER was killed in an accident on Hinckley Road, Islands Brow, just before midnight on Friday, April 28. The 18-year-old was driving a Ford Mondeo belonging to his father. The car left the road, overturned and landed on its roof, throwing him from the vehicle.
The teenager was taken to Whiston Hospital, but he had sustained fatal injures.
