A TIME capsule containing the work of Haslingden schoolchildren is to be buried at the Mary Hindle Resource Centre, Bury Road, on July l.
There is still time for authors and artists to have something put into the capsule -- an essay, poem or drawing about how they see their home town.
Seals on the capsule must not be broken until 2027 -- the 200th anniversary of the date on which Mary Hindle was convicted of encouraging loom-wreckers during a riot at Middle Mill, now Airtours, and was transported to New South Wales.
Andrew Bridge, chairman of Haslingden Community Forum, which is developing the centre, said: "Although the centre is named after a 19th century Haslingden woman, it is very much a centre for the future of the town."
Last date for submission of items is May 26. Details from Jackie on 01706 872601 after 5pm.
