THE council must not re-open Spring Street in Bury to through traffic.
The only advantage would be easy access for vehicles but the many disadvantages would include the problems of heavy lorries going up and down the street all day; cars and taxis going to and from Asda; and traffic noise and pollution from 6.30am on market days.
It is difficult enough now to park outside your house on market days. What will it be like if the road is re-opened?
Please remember why the road was closed in the first place. It followed the death of a small child. We do not want to see that happen again.
