I WRITE in reply to "Loyal Bury Fan" (Your Letters, May 2).
Being a shareholder of Bury Football Club I must make the point that while "Loyal Bury Fan" is quite right that the latest club accounts do record that Mr Robinson earned £50,000, the writer fails to point out that the latest club accounts also report that the company made a profit of £1 million. The club accounts the previous year showed a profit of £200,000.
I believe there are many local companies that would gladly reward their chief executive with £50,000 per annum for that kind of return.
Mr Robinson is performing very well thank you, and I am happy to write to the Bury Times to let them know my feelings on the matter.
P. R. WILKINSON,
Walmersley Road, Bury.
