POLICE are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed a man steal a 76-year-old lady's handbag to contact them.
The incident happened at about 10.45am on Sunday, April 30, as the pensioner was walking along Gartons Lane to St Theresa's Church, Sutton Manor, for the 11am service.
The pensioner noticed a man walking towards her and as she walked by him he snatched her handbag, containing a small amount of cash and some personal papers, before running off towards Jubits Lane.
The robber is described as 30-40 years, slim build, with collar length fair hair. He was smartly dressed and was wearing a light coloured shirt.
