Rovers midfielder David Dunn helped England thrash Turkey 6-0 in the European Under 21 Championships last night.
And the 20-year-old starlet today insisted Howard Wilkinson's men can still qualify for the final, despite the fact their fate now rests in the hands of the Turks.
England can only make it if they beat Slovakia and Turkey take at least a draw off group leaders Italy in the final round of qualifiers.
"If Turkey can get the first goal then we still have a chance," said Dunn.
"We played brilliantly against Turkey last night and I'm confident we can beat Slovakia.
"But it's out of our hands."
Dunn played his first ever full game for the Under 21s last night and was pleased with his overall performance.
"I didn't think I did too well in the first half but I thought I did okay after that.
"But it was just great to get a start.
"It's totally different from club football and it takes time to adapt.
"But I really enjoyed the experience."
