EWOOD boss Graeme Souness today revealed that Rovers are starting to close in on a number of transfer targets.
So far, things have been quiet on the transfer front at Ewood since Rovers completed their First Division programme.
But Souness is about to step up his interest in a number of players and his first signing as manager is imminent.
"If you look in the papers things have been fairly quiet everywhere on the transfer front since the season finished," said Souness.
"But the fans will start to see things happening in the next few weeks as people start to come back off their holidays.
"As I've said all along, I don't want to make seven or eight changes.
"I want to create an atmosphere and a team spirit amongst the present squad and it would be difficult to do that if I brought in a raft of new players. So I think we need maybe three or four additions to freshen things up a bit."
Souness is still trying to tie-up a deal with Liverpool's Stig Inge Bjornebye despite speculation that the deal is dead.
But there could be another new arrival -- more likely to be on the opposite flank -- before the Norwegian decides one way or the other.
