AN HISTORIC porcelain mug featuring a portrait of Burnley's first MP Richard Shaw is being offered for sale on the internet by top auction house Sotheby's.
The William Shackleton mug is printed in black with a portrait of the MP and a view of Holme Lodge.
The inscription reads: "The choice of the working men and first MP for Burnley who contested the election with General Scarlett, 17 Nov 1868, and polled 2620, majority 382."
The mug is expected to bring between $200 and $300.

Richard Shaw a Liberal, was a successful businessman.
He was educated at Burnley Grammar School and St Peter's School, York.
He was re-elected MP for Burnley in 1874 but died two years later at the age of 50.
