FOR a peacock, it is the ideal new home.
With six acres to roam around in, it can easily be called spacious, and with a river and forest, it's fair to say it has all the mod cons your upwardly mobile peacock could want.
But Percy the peacock didn't expect anything less when he touched down in a garden belonging to. . . an estate agent!
Percy, given that name by Peter Davies -- who owns the house and huge garden Percy is now calling home -- arrived at his new pad on Monday, and hasn't left since.
His sudden appearance has delighted Peter and family -- after all, a resident peacock must be a unique selling point, even in Great Harwood!
But, much as the family want to keep him, they are keen to find out where he came from.
Peter, who runs Peter Davies Estate Agents in Great Harwood, said: "We were relaxing in the garden at the end of the bank holiday when he just appeared.
"It was a novelty at first but he seems to like it here, and hasn't left since. "We went to work yesterday and he has strutting around in our front garden. When we got home, he was sitting on one of our sun loungers." Percy's new home comes complete with friendly neighbours. The Davies' pet cat seems to have taken a shine to his new co-inhabitant.
Peter added: "The cat seems to like him but Percy isn't bothered about the cat. He is quite used to people too so we think he must belong to somebody.
"We'd love to keep him, but we think it is only fair to give his owner the chance to come and claim him if they want him back."
Peter is now using his firm's 24-hour answering service as a hot-line for people who may know where Percy has come from.
