THE Bacup Rotary branch is taking part in a nationwide scheme to donate copies of the 'Coping With Life' CD series to local schools.
The CD sets deal with essential childhood issues such as bullying, divorce, bereavement and crime.
Bacup Rotary members are in the process of delivering the CDs to the 20 primary and secondary schools throughout Bacup and Whitworth and hope to complete their task before the end of the summer term next month.
The interactive CDs have sections for teachers, children, parents and governors and have approximately two-and-a-half hours of information in the form of music, clips and plays.
Head teacher at Nothern Primary School in Bacup, Mrs McLenahan, said: "The CDs are excellent. Not only for the children and teachers, but the sections for parents and governors will help to give an understanding of the issues going on in schools today."
'The Rotary, Coping with Life' series has been recognised as the best community crime prevention project in the world by the International Society of Crime Prevention Practitioners.
Bacup Rotary's vice-president Nick Stratton said: "We will be contacting head teachers to say that we will be delivering the CDs. The Rotary Club is pleased to be a part of this nationwide scheme."
