PRESTON manager David Moyes looks set to reject Sheffield Wednesday -- as there could be more money to spend at Deepdale, writes DANY ROBSON.
The Scot, who recently signed a four-year deal at North End, has been linked with the vacancy at Hillsborough after Joe Kinnear snubbed them yesterday.
Kinnear's agent said the former Wimbledon boss turned down the job because he wouldn't have the finances available to help them return to the Premiership at the first time of asking.
Moyes is now said to be high on Owls chairman Howard Culley's wanted list.
But Preston have just announced they hope to generate £7.5m from selling shares in the club and, as well as spending the money on redeveloping Deepdale, they have also promised Moyes more money to spend on players for his First Division campaign.
The 37-year-old has already spent £375,000 on Bournemouth midfielder Steve Robinson and the long term prospects at Preston could be better for Moyes.
The highly rated manager, who took Preston back into the First Division for the first time in 20 years, has been linked with a number of vacancies despite only being in charge at Deepdale for just less than two seasons. The main one continues to be as assistant manager to Alex Ferguson at Manchester United.
