SLICK Steve McDonald chalked up another victory on Anglesey on Bank Holiday Monday.
He triumphed in a one-day event staged by the Wirral 100 club.
It was a first for Steve on his debut on the track, but he upset the regulars, who complained that road-based production machines should not be racing against 'real race bikes'!!
On paper, the regulars should have blown Steve, riding his own Yamaha two-stroke, away, but the bike's just part of the equation.
The win put Steve joint top of the Wirral 100 championship, all good preparation for the Isle of Man in August when Steve will be aboard a four-stroke Honda, lent to him specially for the Manx Grand Prix.
Steve still needs financial help and any tips on tuning a VFR400 would be greatly appreciated. His mobile number is 0802 151766 or you can e-mail him at steviemcd@hotmail.com
