A RADCLIFFE post office has been hit by armed raiders for the second time within a week.
And in the latest robbery, the 54-year-old postmaster was treated in hospital for a face wound.
But the three masked men who targeted the Outwood post office in Ringley Road West escaped empty-handed when a customer came into the premises on Thursday afternoon (May 25)
Exactly a week before, the postmaster was punched in the face before two masked raiders, one brandishing a sledgehammer, fled with a quantity of cash in a stolen black Honda car.
In the latest incident, three robbers entered at 2.20pm and threw a 4ft by 1ft slab of concrete at the security screen.
They jumped over the counter and demanded the postmaster hand over the keys to the safe.
But the thugs fled when a customer entered the shop.
Detectives believe the fleeing raiders ran to the rear of the building and escaped by car.
The injured postmaster had three staples inserted into a head wound before being released from hospital.
And a female employee suffered the effects of delayed shock.
Police say all three men wore balaclavas. Their inquiries are continuing.
