CHILDREN were given the chance to have a say in how their area develops at a fun day in the Griffin area of Burnley.
Sharron Swindells, a community development worker, organised a fun event with stalls, roll a penny, badge making and face painting on Griffin field.
And there was a serious side to the day too with the children being asked to say what they would like to see in the area in the future.
Chris Black, community development team leader, said: "We are looking to improve the play facilities on Griffin field and we have a sum of money promised by Burnley and Padiham Housing Company so we wanted to find out what the children wanted.
"Their responses have been collected and we will be presenting them to meeting on Tuesday. We hope to see the area being developed by the end of summer."
Burnley MP Peter Pike also attended the fun day to hear what the children wanted.
