FOOTBALL fans who dream about soccer are now able to do so in the perfect surroundings -- with a bed that's got their club's name written all over it.

Two football-mad entrepreneurs from Accrington have designed the novel bed and are already attracting interest from Premiership teams.

But their first client is in a different Premier League from your Manchester Uniteds, Liverpools and Aston Villas -- the Unibond Premier League, to be precise.

For Ian Gardner and Jim Pettigrew have kicked off their business, Soccer Theme Beds, with a contract from newly-promoted Accrington Stanley.

Now fans of the Crown Ground outfit can purchase wrought-iron beds with the word Accrington at the top end and Stanley for the bottom. Jim said: "Ian first hit on the idea a couple of years ago but didn't seem to get much response.

"He did a few for some friends but that was about it. However, we have given it a go again and written to all the Premiership clubs. Most have yet to reply but we are going down to Bradford next week to sell the idea to them.

"Accrington Stanley are the first team to have signed a contract and they really seem to like them."

Jim added that the beds were the ideal extra for the soccer-loving punter.

He said: "Until now, you could buy absolutely anything for your bedroom, except the actual beds.

"Lampshades, duvets, wallpaper and posters are all commonplace but the bed is still pretty unique."
