THREE Preston North End players have been voted into the top ten of Division Two last season in a national poll.
The FourFourTwo magazine awards saw Sean Gregan and Jon Macken, pictured, in second and third place and Graham Alexander at number nine.
Gregan was pipped to the top spot by Bristol Rovers hotshot Jason Roberts.
FourFourTwo editor Michael Hann said: "Our awards are voted for by the people who matter most in the game from fans to managers and so they have a unique legitimacy among end of season prizes.
"This is reflected in the Award for Division Two Player of the Season.
"Jason Roberts has made a big impression in the West Country this season with his goalscoring prowess and is on course to emulate the career of his uncle, Cyrille Regis. His accolade is well deserved.
"Our top 50 players also provide a definitive snapshot of the season that has just been completed and few would disagree with the fact that there are three representatives from title-winning North End in the top ten."
Other winners at the awards included Manchester United's Roy Keane for best Premiership player, Barnsley's Craig Hignett for the Division One equivalent and Marco Gabbiadini of Darlington for Division Three.
Crystal Palace manager Steve Coppell won Best Unsung Hero, John Motson was named best TV commentator and Paulo Di Cannio's wicked volley against Wimbledon was voted goal of the season.
