BURY FC soccer chiefs are stepping up their campaign to recruit more Asian supporters.
Muslim religious leaders drawn from the local mosques met Shakers chairman Terry Robinson during a summit at Gigg Lane last Friday.
Mr Liaqat Ali, chairman of the Islamic Centre in Bury, said: "The meeting was to help promote anti-racism in football and the community."
After a frank discussion, several agreements were made to further take forward the "Kick out Racism" initiative the club are at the forefront of.
Mr Robinson was to visit local mosques today to raise awareness among young Asians and encourage them to come along and support the Shakers.
It was also agreed Muslim religious leaders and representatives from the club establish a committee to work together and it is hoped to set up project initiatives on anti-racism in football.
