MEMBERS of Bury Hospice are dancing with delight after being presented with a cheque for £400.
The money comes from proceeds of a line dance, attended by more than 100 people, which was organised by Councillor Dot Cassidy at Bury Town Hall's Elizabethan Suite, in April.
It is the third year running that the councillor has raised money for the hospice and although the figure was slightly down on the £600 raised last year she was delighted with the amount.
Coun Cassidy, pictured presenting the cheque to Hospice chairman Colin Caffrey, said: "For a line dance that much money is excellent."
And the dedicated councillor vowed to continue raising money for the hospice with another event next year.
On a sad note, however, this year's event was soured slightly for the councillor as she had a camera owned by her late husband, Sean, stolen from her table and has appealed for its return.
