POLICE chiefs have revealed their delight at the fall in recorded crime in Lancashire last year.
Recorded crime fell by almost eight per cent and nuisance and disorder by almost nine, smashing Lancashire Constabulary's targets.
Dr Ruth Henig, chair of the Police Authority, was especially pleased with the second result.
She said: "People have concerns about noise and people disturbing the peace.
"I know local community safety groups are happy with the way we are all working to improve the quality of life in our communities."
Peter Langmead-Jones from the Constabulary's corporate development department added: "The figures are very encouraging.
"We have worked closely with other agencies and these partnerships have worked towards our aims of making Lancashire a safer place."
