PRESTON anglers are being asked to keep an eye out for net poachers.
The Environment Agency and The Ribble Fisheries Association have joined forces to launch an anti-poaching campaign.
The campaign was launched on the banks of River Ribble by the Environment Agency's Steve Whittam, Ribble Fisheries Association chairman Keith Spencer and Lancashire Crimestoppers' DC Andy Edwards and Emily Forshaw.
Posters have been produced to highlight the problem.
Keith Spencer said: "The association has invested a lot of time and money in ensuring that the Ribble is a productive location for the genuine angler.
"Poachers can have an adverse effect on the stocks in the river and rob dedicated anglers of their pleasure."
Anyone who has any information about those involved in poaching should contact Crimestoppers.
If your information leads to a successful prosecution, you may get a cash reward. The free phone number for Crimestoppers is 0800 555 111.
