RISING star Martin Lambert is planning to set up a Roy Orbison tribute band after winning The Journal/Hippodrome Stars in Their Eyes grand final.
Martin, 31 from Newton Road Lowton, has been in touch with a working band who are interested in the proposal.
About ten years ago Martin wrote a song called 'Please remember me' which made it to number two in the American charts. Unfortunately he had sold all rights to the song!
Martin normally performs as a singer guitarist covering many different types of music - modern, old and rock, but still likes to write his own songs.
He said: "The Stars in Their Eyes competition was the first time I had ever performed as Roy Orbison, I was very pleased with the result but I never expected to win, it was actually my fiance, Jane (pictured) that entered me in the competition and I went along to keep her happy! "
