MENTAL health services in Leigh have been given a boost.
A new Wigan and Leigh Mental Health Directory, providing information on national and regional services for people with mental problems, was launched this week.
The new booklet will help people who experience emotional distress and those who care for them.
It will also benefit professionals who offer hospital and community care.
Mental Health Carers Support Worker Sharon West said: "People's mental health can change from day to day and everyone has a different definition of what it means.
"The directory's range is wide enough to be helpful to an older person with dementia, to someone with depression or to someone who needs specialised help in claiming benefits."
The directory, which has been developed over the last two years, was formally launched at the JJB Stadium on Wednesday.
Social Services bosses, members of the town's Council for Voluntary Services and Wigan and Leigh Specialist Health Promotion Service have developed the directory.
